Eric Cantona’s cryptic press conference following his Kung Fu Kick on Crystal Palace “fan” Matthew Simmons had reporters and fans alike amused and baffled.

After receiving a red card Cantona made his way towards the tunnel and Simmons thought it wise to verbally abuse the enigmatic Frenchman.

Cantona kung fu kicked and then punched Simmons. It later transpired Simmons was a member of the fascist B.N.P. and National Front parties. Eric was an impeccable judge of character.

When asked about the incident years later Eric confessed “I should’ve hit him harder”
